Avg slow at updating
Now, I thought "maybe it's due to server stress on Overwatch Beta Weekend", however, I had the exact same problem reinstalling Starcraft II about two weeks ago. And considering the Beta will be done soon, this is extremely irritating and frustrating on Blizzard's end. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it since the games are saved in a different folder than the Battle. I am having the same problem downloading Overwatch.Does anyone else have suggestions as to what's causing the problem? Never do I have an issue with Steam, downloading the Battleborn Beta (same size game) took less than 20 minutes. This is not the first time I have encountered a similar problem with this garbage they call App.No idea what to do about it but tried everything I could think of and find on google. I've tried other things now because I'm desperate and Blizzard doesn't seem to care at all about us. To further narrow down the symptoms, I've tried to disable my firewall, powercycle my network connection, disable my antivirus, turn off "automatically detect settings" in my LAN settings as some have suggested, and none of this has worked.I've seen this problem posted over countless forums and 3rd party websites like Reddit. It's been 36 hours now since I've started this 5 GB game, and guess where it's at? By that I mean I couldn't do ANYTHING web releated.Unfortunately, some people are reporting it’s causing serious slowdowns. If it’s already been installed, you’ll be able to update your system and action it.
If I do a Scan and Repair in the program, it'll speed it along temporarily (1-2 minutes) and then it seems to just get stuck, showing a download speed but without the download bar actually progressing.
They need to be as up to date as possible to have the best chance of removing the threats.
Of course, if your computer is severely infected, you may have to resort to an Antivirus rescue CD from your favorite security company.
It’s also true that if you disable the updates or have computers that are constantly offline and not connected to the internet for long periods or at all, the virus definitions will get badly outdated in no time and your computer becomes more vulnerable.
Also, the situation could be that you can’t get on the internet during or after a malware attack to update the antivirus signatures.
